Where we live, it’s not uncommon to be visited by numerous deer and wild turkey during the day. We even occasionally hear of a bear in the area and can often make out the forlorn howl of a lonely coyote at night.
It’s not everyday, however, that a Great Dane streaks through the backyard in the middle of a snowstorm. I don’t know where he came from, but he sure looked like he knew where he was going!

Ha! I live in the middle of a housing development that’s located less than a mile away from the city. About two months ago, I was jogging in my neighborhood and came across 10 wild turkeys hanging out in a front lawn. There are no major wildlife areas near my home, so I have no idea where they came from.

LOL! We live in suburbia between a major highway and an interstate (less than four miles west) but still see our fair share of deer, raccoons and ‘possums. There was even a big black bear struck and killed on said interstate about a dozen miles up the road. It’s now on display at the local Bass Pro Shop. (I can’t make this stuff up.)

Yep - that would make my list for pretty out there. No, it’s not the deer, snake, turkey or skunk - it’s the great dane. I would find myself wondering where the heck he came from and hoping he wouldn’t be back int he summer time to do his business on my lawn!

He was running home - he was late for dinner!!
We sometimes see deer and a fox. When we moved into our house we actually found a dead bear cub in our yard. Maybe that’s why my neighbors don’t like me???
One day in the fall I was sitting at home along and had the side door open, all of the sudden a deer came running down the driveway, over our bridge and past the window I was sitting next to. He was so close I could hear his hooves pounding - it was pretty cool. No turkeys here though - we see those when we visit my brother in South Dakota and now Wyoming.

Dogs love the snow as much as kids. Our neighbor’s usually behaved golden retriever was like a puppy last night, racing around the street and people’s yards.
